Over the last twenty years or so, Matthias Tanzmann has succeeded in doing something every producer and DJ should strive to do: remain unquestionably consistent. Fans with a keen ear will always be able to pick out his tracks. He started his own label, Moon Harbour Recordings, shortly after he began his career, and he’s used it as a platform to define his signature sound ever since.
From very early on Matthias established himself as a versatile house artist, and now he has an extensive catalog which burnishes that reputation. He’s brought his unique style to labels all across the house music spectrum from having the latest release on Dirtybird to being a regular on Toolroom, Soma, VIVa Music and more. Recently he’s brought together his close friends and fellow producers Martin Buttrich and David Squillace to form the supergroup Better Lost Than Stupid. They just put out a new single called “Deep Inside” which adopts the feel of groups like New Order and LCD Soundsystem. I’m thrilled such a revered artist like Matthias was able to contribute a mix to THE BIRDHOUSE. Check it out in full below!
