For episode 191, I am ecstatic to welcome legendary Detroit house producer and dj, Carl Craig, to the show. In support of his brand new compilation, Detroit Love Volume 2, Carl dropped in the guest mix with an exclusive 30 minute mix of the comp.

Dancefloor experimentalist and top Detroit techno producer Carl Craig has been putting work in the scene for three decades. He dropped his first release in 1989 and has since went on to helm some of the most influential labels in the scene. Carl launched his own imprint, Planet-E in 1991, and has helped push the careers of techno stalwarts like Paul Woolford, Wajeed, Monty Luke and many more. Carl’s creativity is endless and continually pushes the boundaries of the norm. His collaboration “Versus,” combines techno and classical music into a performance unlike anything we have heard before. His commitment to Detroit music also extends far beyond his own Planet-E family. Carl has also it has also served as a distributor for Detroit imprints including Derrick May's Transmat and Stacey Pullen's Black Flag.

It is not often I throw the word legend around but when it comes to Carl Craig, the title I fitting. Being from Detroit myself, I can genuinely say it is an honor and a pleasure to have Carl Craig on this week’s BIRDHOUSE. Listen to his guest mix below and make sure to check out his brand new compilation, Detroit Love Vol. 2, featuring a brand new exclusive track from me called “My Love Check.”
